Il Teatro Nazionale Slovacco, si trova a Bratislava sulla piazza Hviezdoslavovo námestie. E’ un edificio neorinascimentale costruito nel 1886, ha sostituito il precedente teatro. Davanti si trova una delle più antiche fontane della città, la fontana di Ganymede, opera di Viktor Tilgner del 1888.
Il teotro lirico è molto famoso tra i visitori stranieri perchè offre una qualità ad un ottimo prezzo rispetto agli standard occidentali. E’ riservato per l’opera, per il teatro di prosa e per il balletto.
Gli spettacoli di solito cominciano alle 19.00.
